Help Wanted

604-302-1780 or Abbotsford, BC

Note: Hiring is currently on hold due to the pandemic and travel restrictions which have significantly affected our business. We are hoping to resume once travel restrictions lift and clients are able to reschedule their vacations.

We are looking to fill several positions at Furryornot Petcare on a casual on-call basis. There are no guaranteed hours to start but there is an opportunity for more assignments as the business grows. More hours would likely occur during busy vacation periods such as Christmas break, spring break, long weekends, summer holidays, etc.
Note: Due to scheduling limitations all helpers are classified “Independent Contractors”, not employees, and are responsible for their own travel expenses, supplies, etc.. They are also responsible for their own income tax, and there are no other benefits like health insurance included.

All applicants should e-mail a resume and cover letter indicating what position (or positions) you are interested in to

Please do not create a password for access to your document. If you are short listed you will receive more information via email, including an application to fill out which must be (snail)mailed to the address provided.

Minimum requirements:

  • Criminal Record Check available upon request
  • Experience caring for animals (can include pet ownership, training, working with animals or volunteering at an animal care or rescue facility)
  • Reside in or near Abbotsford
  • Have your own vehicle, or access to a family vehicle when needed
  • Have a cell phone and ability to text
  • Personal and/or work references available upon request

Applicants should be honest, ethical, caring, reliable and respectful of others. The work includes building trust and a relationship with the pets, as well as their human parents. We make sure to visit the pets as scheduled regardless of inclement weather or other obstacles. Unlike a typical job, the pets in our care require daily care so it is absolutely critical to show up to work regardless of how you feel. The less glamorous tasks include cleaning up pet messes, picking up poop (a lot of it!), and dealing with ill or injured pets – it is not all cuddle time though that is definitely a regular part of the job too!

Other positions available:

Administrative help – 4 to 12 hours per month, tasks may include data entry, filing, answering phones, returning phone calls, assisting with social media posts and website maintenance. • Copy writing or editing
